By this point you have invested some time in this prospect.  If your proposal looks like you spent five minutes getting it ready, your prospect might get the impression that you don’t care or worse yet that you are not professional. 

You don’t need to have a leather-bound proposal, especially for small business – but it should look better than your fifth-grade essay about the rain forest as seen to the right:
